The sheep have been sheared.

Last Friday the sheep were sheared (shorn?). Although still very cold, we had to have it done as the ewes will start lambing in a few weeks. It's always a surprise to see what the sheep look like under all that fleece. This time it was nice to see how the ewes, especially Maisie, were progressing in their pregnancies. Maisie will definitely be first. Balthazar looks very handsome with his short hair and big horns. Clover looks like a little Holstein calf! Josh, our shearer, is great. He has had loads of experience in New Zealand, Montana, and on his own farm with 900 sheep! We really lucked out finding him. It was a good experience for all

Next week we will take the fleeces to be made into wool.
